SWANSONG, the aptly-named final album from British death metal legends
CARCASS, has been reissued and is out now in Europe!

The classic 1996 album marks the recording finale of CARCASS, highly
regarded as one of the most inspirational death metal bands around, and is
the third of their five studio albums to be reissued. The SWANSONG reissue
comes fully remastered on a DualDisc (combined CD and DVD) in a deluxe
digipak with expanded artwork and a free sticker sheet featuring exclusive
CARCASS designs. It also includes part 5 of a mini-documentary series
entitled THE PATHOLOGIST'S REPORT as bonus video material, plus an
exclusive, previously unheard bonus track, "Deathrider Da".

The documentary consists of interviews, filmed in London and Liverpool at
the end of 2007, featuring the members of CARCASS - KEN OWEN, BILL STEER,
JEFF WALKER and MICHAEL AMOTT - who met up for the first time in ten years
and were filmed discussing in-depth the story behind the band's development
from their gore-soaked grind beginnings to the more refined, melodic moments
of their later output.

EARACHE is proud to announce the signing of British technical metallers THE
BOY WILL DROWN to a multi-album, worldwide recording deal.

THE BOY WILL DROWN are a four-piece band based in Norwich/Colchester in the
UK who formed in late 2006. Currently regarded as one of the most
flamboyant and intense bands in the UK, they play a vicious blend of
technical and experimental music based around grindcore and death metal.
Refusing to play "sugar-coated" metal like so many other bands, THE BOY WILL
DROWN do everything in their power to mesmerise and pulverise the listener,

ORDER OF ENNEAD REVEAL DEBUT SONG

ORDER OF ENNEAD, the recently-formed Floridian extreme metal band featuring

EPHEL DUATH REVEAL GUEST MUSICIAN ON NEW ALBUM

Italian avant-garde metallers EPHEL DUATH have revealed that BEN WEINMAN,
founding member and guitarist of DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN, will be appearing as
a special guest musican on EPHEL DUATH's highly anticipated upcoming new
album, THROUGH MY DOG'S EYES.

EPHEL DUATH are proud to announce that BEN WEINMAN will be composing the
electronic parts of the song "Bark Loud".

WEINMAN comments on his experience working with EPHEL DUATH:

"Ephel Duath is one of those bands that truly understands the essence of
what experimental and fusion music should be about. Touring with them was
an amazing experience and it is great to finally be collaborating in this
way!"

EPHEL DUATH are set to enter Outer Sound Studios in Rome on July 14th to

ORLANDO (NOVEMBRE, KLIMT 1918). The drums for the album have already been
recorded by MARCO MINNEMANN (who recently played drums for NECROPHAGIST on
their Summer Slaughter tour) at Seacoast Studio in Imperial Beach,
California. Mastering for THROUGH MY DOG'S EYES will take place at Finnvox
Studios (HIM, NIGHTWISH) in Helsinki, Finland, while the artwork for the
album is being done by SELDON HUNT (NEUROSIS, ISIS, SUNNO)))).

OCEANO SIGN WORLDWIDE DEAL WITH EARACHE RECORDS

EARACHE is proud to announce the signing of Chicago death metal titans

ORDER OF ENNEAD REVEAL SONG TITLES AND MEANINGS

ORDER OF ENNEAD, the recently-formed Floridian extreme metal band featuring
DEICIDE drummer STEVE ASHEIM along with SCOTT PATRICK (bass), KEVIN QUIRION
(vocals, guitar) and JOHN LI (guitar), have revealed song titles from their
upcoming debut album. Vocalist and guitarist KEVIN QUIRION describes the
meanings behind the songs:

"Seeking The Prophets"
There are no prophets, just men who claim to be. In this song, we are
searching for "prophets" to have a discussion with and to poke holes in
their claims of guidance from deities. Also mentioned is the suggestion that
we should not wait for something horrific to happen to someone close to
appreciate them.

"Reflection, An Endless Endeavor"
With this piece we are exploring faith and how willing we are to accept it
for the sake of acceptance. Religion is man made and so is the concept of
good and evil. The hypocrisy of religious wars and betrayal is also touched
upon.

"As Long As I Have Myself I Am Not Alone"
If you can't trust yourself then can you truly trust someone else? If you
don't know who you are can you attempt to know another? Become one with who
you are and accept it and you'll never need to rely on others.

"The Culling"
This one is about getting rid of those who bring you down and ridding
yourself of destructive habits. Distancing yourself from negativity and
those that are negative. The abolishment of those who are non-supportive.

"Introspection And The Loss Of Denial"
Here we attempt to identify the negativity and to find balance in life
through acceptance of our shortcomings. Destruction of the ego and embracing
humility.

"Conferring With Demons"
These are not physical demons, but ones of an inner nature. Find the deepest
core of yourself so you can flourish and not be your own worse enemy.

"A Cry To The Perilous Sun"
The sun has been worshiped since there has been man. Here we are crying out
to the sun, a metaphor for our creator(whatever that may be), for answers as
to why we are here and how it has the answers, but refuses to give us an
explanation of life and purpose.

"As If A Rose I Wither"
The exploration of dying and the deterioration of the mind. Looking into a
mirror and not recognizing yourself. How no matter what you accomplish the
only guarantee we have is death.

"Dismantling An Empire"
This is the only track that deals with a topic not of an interior nature.
The overthrow of a dictator. The praise of those who have died to preserve
our freedoms. The ability to look past yourself.

ORDER OF ENNEAD's self-titled debut album is being recorded at Audio Hammer
Studios in Sanford, Florida with the help of MARK LEWIS, and is due to be
released by EARACHE RECORDS in October, followed by widespread touring.

ANATA CHECK IN FROM THE STUDIO

Swedish death metal masters ANATA, who are currently recording their as-yet
untitled upcoming new album, have decided to do things differently this time
around. In vocalist/guitarist FREDRIK SCHALIN's words, "Why waste money in
the studio, let's buy their equipment instead!"

SCHALIN and bassist HENRIK DRAKE reveal details of the recording method,
some of the band's new bass and guitar gear and info about a new song in
their new studio report.

FREDRIK SCHALIN comments: "On the previous album, we chose to record only
clean, lined guitar tracks. We did this in order to make up the final sound
later, in a process called re-amping. Although the sound may have ended up a
bit too mellow on that album, the recording technique is ingenious. And
since we always throw the studio guys out anyway (and do all the tracking
ourselves), we thought this time we should instead set up a temporary
recording unit at my place. So we bought the Motu 2408 sound card we had
previously used in Studiomega, set some computers and pre-amps up and
started recording."

fifth full-length album is being recorded in two locations, with the drums

recorded by the band themselves with their own equipment.

"Q: What’s the story behind the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle theme being on the album?
A: Well it all started with my singer Jose actually listening to the cartoon theme online while we were rehearsing. As we practiced Jose suggested in covering the song and making it into our style and we all thought it was a great idea because we are all big turtle fans. We've played many shows covering this song, and people love it and go crazy! So why not put it in the album?"

EPHEL DUATH - GUITARIST DAVIDE TISO COMMENTS ON NEW ALBUM

DAVIDE TISO, guitarist and founding member of Italian experimental jazz
metallers EPHEL DUATH, has spoken about the band's upcoming new album,
THROUGH MY DOG'S EYES.

Commented DAVIDE: "Through My Dog's Eyes is a generous album and we are
extremely proud of it. After tons of preproductions we are ready to enter
the studio this next July 14 to complete the recording sessions. We have
tried to limitate intricate structures, and dissonant arrangements, offering
a warm trip not too difficult to capture and appreciate. This album arrives
directly to the stomach of the listener, but not using any kind of violence.
The body of TMDE is massive, his eyes are delicate and gentle: what you find
in a big size dog.

Considering our career so far, this is the album that in the composition
phase had the chance to breathe the most, and this has let us keep just the
best of it. The core of every song became the song itself. We've gone
through so many things while making this record that it can be felt in the
music but contrary to the past the outcome is positive: no matter how
painful the journey, you have to find something good in it too. This album
is an ode to life, simply."

EPHEL DUATH are set to enter Outer Sound Studios in Rome on July 14th to
complete the recording of THROUGH MY DOG'S EYES with producer GIUSEPPE
ORLANDO (NOVEMBRE, KLIMT 1918). The drums for the album have already been
recorded by MARCO MINNEMANN at Seacoast Studio in Imperial Beach,
California. Mastering for THROUGH MY DOG'S EYES will take place at Finnvox
Studios (HIM, NIGHTWISH) in Helsinki, Finland, while the artwork for the
album is being done by SELDON HUNT (NEUROSIS, ISIS, SUNNO)))).

BONDED BY BLOOD - JOSE "ALADDIN" BARRALES REPORTS FROM THE 'THRASHING LIKE A MANIAC' TOUR

From the roads of Portland, OR, readying for tomorrow's stop on the
THRASHING LIKE A MANIAC tour, BONDED BY BLOOD vocalist, Jose "Aladdin"
Barrales chimed in with a report on how the tour's been treating the band so
far:

"The shows have been great so far and every show has been a blast,
especially in places outside of southern California. We never get out there
so in places like San Francisco when we see all the people who are there to
see us and who are singing every word to our songs, it makes us feel really
loved. There wasn't even any parking over there so that made the fans extra
cool to be able to handle having to park, like, a mile away just to hang
with us and forget their troubles for a while."

This being BONDED BY BLOOD's first national trek, they are just starting to
deal with the very strange and mostly uncomfortable life of a band on the
road:

"Our van's really comfortable. We have a bed in the back that 2 of us sleep
in each night. The rest of us sleep in these comfy van chairs, usually me
and my merch guy. Makes it feel like a big family road trip."

While BONDED BY BLOOD's living arrangements seem more comfortable than that
of most other bands, life outside of the van can be just as strange as any
other:

"We met some weird-ass people. This guy in Stockton (CA) at a Denny's
randomly came up to us and offered us jobs and free weed. This other guy in
Sacramento was like "Here in Cowtown (nickname for the region of Sacramento
they were in), we like to fight" like he expected us to throw down or
something."

Along with the strange comes the good and for Jose, the best is yet to come:

"We're pumped for Portland. There's a huge metal scene out there. We can't
wait for Texas, either. We've gotten a lot of comments from people out there
and they're like (in best southern accent) "Whenever you boys come down to
Texas, we'll make sure to treat you right." We're also playing Billy
Milano's club down there. It's going to be sick."

LAWNMOWER DETH REUNITE TO OPEN FOR BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE

LAWNMOWER DETH, the long-defunct late '80s/early '90s English comedy/thrash
metal band which released three-and-a-half well-regarded albums, will
reunite for a one-off appearance as the opening act for BULLET FOR MY
VALENTINE on November 15 at Alexandra Palace in London, England. Also
scheduled to appear are LACUNA COIL, BLEEDING THROUGH and BLACK TIDE.

Commented LAWNMOWER DETH: "We are aware that we will stand out like a sore
thumb on this lineup, but to be honest we are really happy to have been
offered the chance to get back together again play such a venue with these
bands.

"We would like to offer our gratitude to BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE (and their
crew) for this opportunity... to be honest, it's not really sunk in yet!

We have managed to get everyone together now... even Mr Flymo [a.k.a.
drummer Chris Flint] who up until recently seemed to have vanished off the
face of the earth! (I suspect he's been running the Mower Liberation Front
from a secret location in the deepest depths of Warsop).

"So the next step is to start rehearsals... it's been 13 or 14 years since
any of us played in a band, so it's going to be fun!

"What we have agreed on so far is that the majority of our set will be from
[1990's] 'Ooh Crikey It's... Lawnmower Deth'... seeing as no one liked the
other stuff :)

"So there you have it... I'll keep posting blogs to keep you all up to date
on how things are progressing, we may even post some clips of rehearsals as
they progress."

LAWNMOWER DETH's third, and final, album "Billy", was released in 1993 on

DEICIDE - GLEN BENTON "GOES POSTAL" IN AUGUST ISSUE OF REVOLVER

DEICIDE's Glen Benton is the subject of the monthly "Going Postal" feature
in the new August 2008 issue of Revolver. Glen was asked a series of
questions by readers of Revolver, many on the subject of his influences, his
personal life and DEICIDE's legacy.

One of the more unique questions was sent in by reader "Anthony," who asked;
"What really happened between you and [murdered MAYHEM founder] Euronymous
when you met in the early 90's?"

Glen responded; "This is how out of the loop I was. I met him and he kind of
reminded me of Squiggy from Laverne and Shirley. Because I met him when I
was a kid, too, at a baseball game. I met him and I was like Wow, fuckin'
Squiggy. Anyway, I meet the guy and he's carrying a mace, but it looks like
he stole the table leg off his mom's kitchen table and put, like, nails
through it and shit. And he was wearing this $1.99 cape that you'd buy at
the dollar store during Halloween. They brought me backstage and they said,
"Uranus or whatever from MAYHEM is there and wants to meet you." So I went
out there and met him. And in his broken English, he said [in robotic,
foreign accent] "I did not have problem with you, but this band GORGUTS.
They are not true death-metal/black-metal band." And I was just sitting
there with a big shit-eating grin on my face like "Yeah, that's cool man."
And I really didn't know the importance of the guy. To me he looked like
another goofball fan."

MUNICIPAL WASTE - WATCH 'SADISTIC MAGICIAN' VIDEO ONLINE

Chaos broke out recently when Virginian thrashers MUNICIPAL WASTE paid a
visit to a nuclear power plant. Needless to say, the power plant couldn't
handle the sheer energy of the band and the building started to collapse,
causing toxic waste to leak into the local water supply with some rather
unsettling results.

There couldn't be a scarier thought, but luckily for us, this didn't
actually happen. This tale of terror sets the scene for MUNICIPAL WASTE's
gory new music video for the track SADISTIC MAGICIAN, which comes off the
band's 2007 EARACHE RECORDS album, THE ART OF PARTYING.

Filmed at the Hyperion Sewage Treatment Plant in Playa del Ray, California,
the SADISTIC MAGICIAN video was directed by JEFF SPEED of 1134 Films and
produced by CAROLYN VYE of The Vault LA (KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, AS I LAY DYING,
MADINA LAKE) and features MUNICIPAL WASTE doing what they best - thrashing
it up and laying waste to everything around them!

ORDER OF ENNEAD SIGN WORLDWIDE DEAL WITH EARACHE RECORDS

Earache Records is proud to announce the signing of Florida extreme metal
band Order of Ennead to a multi-album worldwide recording deal.

Order of Ennead comprise of: Steve Asheim (drums), Scott Patrick (bass),
Kevin Quirion (guitar, vocals), John Li (guitar). A photo of the band can

The band are currently hard at work in Audio Hammer Studios in Sanford,
Florida, recording their debut album with the help of Mark Lewis.

Commenting on the signing, Steve Asheim enthused:

The possibilities afforded us by this deal are endless. So watch out for us
on the road and in stores very soon. I can't wait to get on tour with this
band and see what people think."

Commenting on the recording, Scott Patrick added:

After recently completing a UK tour with EXODUS and EVILE, Irish thrashers
GAMA BOMB have now returned from their first ever European tour! Now back
home and recovering, the band have posted a tour report to bring you
up-to-date on the sort of antics that seem to happen wherever they go:

"We've returned. From our first European tour, from the wilds of central
Europe, from the dead: Pick one. If you haven't been paying attention, we'll
try to sum it up for you. Two weeks, 11 shows, a bunch of interviews, a
staggering amount of booze, over 5,000 kilometres travelled, God knows how
much salted meat choked down, and some of the best, greatest, weirdest times
of our 'career' (inverted commas are our own). We could prattle on about the
amazing gigs (for amazing they were, boys and girls) and all the cool places
we saw, but it's more interesting to write a big weird list of crap instead,
isn't it?"

CULT OF LUNA'S JOHANNES PERSSON EXPLAINS ETERNAL KINGDOM SONGS

With the release date drawing nearer for ETERNAL KINGDOM - the brand new
album from Swedish art-rockers CULT OF LUNA - the hype is growing and the
story behind the album is certainly adding to the excitement.

Based on an actual journal found in an old mental home, ETERNAL KINGDOM
takes listeners on a weird and wonderful journey through the mind of a
former patient as he tells the tale of how his wife came to be murdered and
of the mythical creatures he claims to have encountered during the time of
the harrowing event.

CULT OF LUNA guitarist JOHANNES PERSSON recently gave a track-by-track

The fifth album from CULT OF LUNA, ETERNAL KINGDOM was recorded at Tonteknik

ETERNAL KINGDOM is set to be a much heavier and darker affair than previous
albums.

ETERNAL KINGDOM will be released on June 16th in the UK/Europe and July 8th

CARCASS - HEARTWORK REISSUE DUALDISC IN STORES NOW

HEARTWORK, the critically acclaimed album from British death metal legends
CARCASS, has been reissued and is available in stores in the UK/Europe now!

The classic 1993 album is the second of the five CARCASS studio albums to be
reissued and comes fully remastered on a DualDisc (CD and DVD) with part 4
of a mini-documentary series entitled THE PATHOLOGIST'S REPORT as bonus
video material.

The documentary consists of interviews, filmed in London and Liverpool at
the end of 2007, featuring the members of CARCASS - KEN OWEN, BILL STEER,
JEFF WALKER and MICHAEL AMOTT - who met up for the first time in ten years
and were filmed discussing in-depth the story behind the band's development
from their gore-soaked grind beginnings to the more refined melodic moments
of their later output.
