Liverpool based crossover-thrashers SSS are finalising plans for the recording
of their official Earache debut, due for release later in the year.
As many as 25 songs have been written during sessions for the album, with
around 15 to be selected for the album itself. With drum tracks due to be
laid down in April, the band hope to complete the recording with the help of
Andy Mason, who also worked on the band's self titled debut.
Lead shouter Foxy elaborates further on the progress so far:
?Its all systems go our end for the next record, we cant wait to get crackin? on it in the studio.
We?ve got a load of new tracks finished and in the bag - a good mix to keep people on their toes.
Plus Pushead on board to do the art - so hit puree .....the stage is set for a ripper.?

Tony Foresta on paving the way for the reemergence of thrash:
"When we first started, it was just punks and hardcore kids, and we were the ones with the denim vests on, the four of us. Even metal kids in general weren’t dressing like that back then. I say “back then” like this was a long time ago. This was like six or seven years ago. In January [2008], it’ll be seven years. It’s weird. Kids just didn’t really do that. Now, it’s come back so much that people aren’t embarrassed to be into thrash anymore."
Tony Foresta on the art of touring:
"Being on the road for so long between that time and now, we don’t really party as much . The next record is going to called The Art of Not Partying. "
Tony Foresta on the band's partying image:
"That whole image, we’re going to try to stray away from that in the future just because it’s like overshadowing what we do, what we care about…which is playing badass thrash songs. We like to have fun too, but I don’t want that to overshadow…I don’t want it to be some fucking cheesy gimmick. Playing this sort of music is really important to us."

Zombies, beer and thrash...just another day in the life of Ireland's own GAMA BOMB.
The band checks in once again with another update straight from Grindstone Studios about the recording of their EARACHE debut, CITIZEN BRAIN (produced by Scott Atkins):
Dispatches From The Front Pt. 2 - Studio Report
"If making amazing albums is a crime, we're going to be sent down for life
when CITIZEN BRAIN gets released (slated for mid-May, fact fans). Drums are
complete, as evidenced by Paul spending his days playing Hitman with a beer,
and we're coming to the end of guitar tracking. Luke and Domo have been
putting in long days, scrutinizing every riff and lick with Scott, and the
results sound amazing. Philly is now getting into the thick of the vocal
takes, too, and is packing in some seriously balls-to-the-wall screaming in
late-night sessions. Unfortunately, he hasn't been spotted wearing
sunglasses while doing takes like Glen Benton. A recent memo from EARACHE
advised that 'more falsettos = better', and we're certainly going to deliver
on that.
Last week saw Tom Luchtenstein from MUTANT and Jamie from Resilience Records
swing by the studio to deliver some hilariously brilliant backing vocals on
a few tunes, only to callously leave us again like the Milk Tray man in the
night. We got over it. We also got the first pencil roughs for CITIZEN BRAIN's album cover back from our man in New York, the brilliant Jeff Zornow
(www.myspace.com/zornow). It looks amazing. If you see one picture of robot
arms coming out of mouths this year, make this it.
We're into the last week of recording now, and the working days are getting
longer (while the studio becomes progressively smellier and more cluttered
with crisp bags and guitar string ends), the work is getting harder, and the
alcohol consumption is leveling out to a steady 25 cases per week. We're
big and tough because we drink lots. Etcetera. Bass and lead, as well as the
rest of the vocals and backings, occupy the rest of our time here, as does
watching the 15 Italian trash cinema DVDs we got in the post this weekend.
We can highly recommend Devil Story and Cop Game to lovers of unbelievably
bad cinema.

when CITIZEN BRAIN gets released (slated for mid-May, fact fans). Drums are
complete, as evidenced by Paul spending his days playing Hitman with a beer,
and we're coming to the end of guitar tracking. Luke and Domo have been
putting in long days, scrutinizing every riff and lick with Scott, and the
results sound amazing. Philly is now getting into the thick of the vocal
takes, too, and is packing in some seriously balls-to-the-wall screaming in
late-night sessions. Unfortunately, he hasn't been spotted wearing
sunglasses while doing takes like Glen Benton. A recent memo from EARACHE
advised that 'more falsettos = better', and we're certainly going to deliver
on that.
Last week saw Tom Luchtenstein from MUTANT and Jamie from Resilience Records
swing by the studio to deliver some hilariously brilliant backing vocals on
a few tunes, only to callously leave us again like the Milk Tray man in the
night. We got over it. We also got the first pencil roughs for CITIZEN BRAIN's album cover back from our man in New York, the brilliant Jeff Zornow
(www.myspace.com/zornow). It looks amazing. If you see one picture of robot
arms coming out of mouths this year, make this it.
We're into the last week of recording now, and the working days are getting
longer (while the studio becomes progressively smellier and more cluttered
with crisp bags and guitar string ends), the work is getting harder, and the
alcohol consumption is leveling out to a steady 25 cases per week. We're
big and tough because we drink lots. Etcetera. Bass and lead, as well as the
rest of the vocals and backings, occupy the rest of our time here, as does
watching the 15 Italian trash cinema DVDs we got in the post this weekend.
We can highly recommend Devil Story and Cop Game to lovers of unbelievably
bad cinema.

In a brand new interview with Leviatan Metal Magazine, EVILE guitarist, Ol Drake offers a no holds barred look on life, love and THRASH.
On EVILE's support slot with MACHINE HEAD:
"It was our first time meeting, seeing and playing with MACHINE HEAD. Our expectations were high, as they have a great reputation in the biz (at least as far as I know). We knew they'd be tight as hell and would be on the ball 100%, which they were. Excellent live band. Robb (Flynn) was a really nice guy. He came out of his way to come and thank us for supporting. He's really up on the whole new 'revival' Thrash scene, which surprised me. Had a really cool time!"
On EVILE's early days as a METALLICA cover band:
"I'm so glad we did the covers band thing. We learnt everything about being in a metal band from it. Life on the road, live shows etc. It opened our eyes to the different life style. Someone could be asked what their job is "Oh I work at a bank" and we could then answer "Oh I play noise at people and sleep on guitar cabs in a van. I don't get paid for it either!". Generally it doesn't sound normal, so I'm glad we got into it. THRASSHSHH!H!!!!"
On EVILE's place in the resurgence of thrash:
"the album was created with a pure passion for Thrash Metal. We wrote the songs with a love for the music, and we recorded it with a love for the music. We didn't change styles to be in with the new 'Thrash Trend' as we were doing it years before this "revival" happened. I think if a band tries to be Thrash when they don't genuinely live and love the music, it shows. It's like if we tried doing some screamy-shouty-Emo haircut crap, we'd suck, because we hate it. "

GAMA BOMB ISSUE 'CITIZEN BRAIN' STUDIO REPORT
Crazed Irish thrashers Gama Bomb are currently holed up in Grindstone
Studios in Suffolk with producer Scott Atkins, putting the finishing touches
to their imminent debut album, 'Citizen Brain'.
Singer Philly checked in from the recording session to explain how things
have progressed so far:

"How do, thrash farmers,
The G-Max lads are now one week into the recording of our Earache debut
Citizen Brain at Grindstone Studios in deepest, darkest Suffolk with Scott
"Cliffhanger 2" Atkins, and what a week it's been. Three days of tracking
drums saw Paul nail every song down and left him literally letting off some
steam (a la Commando's Captain Bennett) as he sweated off the pounds in the
live room. We're currently editing the resulting tracks and preparing to lay
down rhythm guitars. Evil ones.
Aside from that we're hanging out in the amazing luxury holiday home the E
lads have arranged for us (it's a bit like Radiohead's OK Computer house,
except we're enjoying ourselves), drinking tea in the mornings, beers in the
afternoons, hot whiskey in the evenings and a mixture of all three until the
wee hours of the morning. We're also continuing our quest to watch Italian
shlock horror masterpiece Rats: Night Of Terror 10 times before completing
the album (three and counting) and harassing the neighbour's cats with our
massively-amped riffage in the night
We're ready to lay down some killer geetars next, followed by some
bone-rattling bass, some eye-watering lead and some
shit-on-a-stick-in-the-face vocals, which will surely make Citizen Brain one
of the greatest thrash albums since Hellion Bastion's Pit Commando. We made

British wide screen full-on metallers Biomechanical release their third
album through Earache Records his week.
Entitled "CANNIBALISED" the album is the culmination of a musical journey
through "Eight Moons" and "The Empires of the Worlds" and concludes the
complex trilogy.
Frontman John K comments:
"There are no compromises on this album. It¹s Metal without boundaries and
as much energy as we could possibly deliver."
ŒCannibalised¹ is not for the faint hearted. Pummeling and relentless, this
is the most complex record Biomechanical mastermind John K has created to
date. Cinematic, high definition heavy metal, the album in many ways
reflects the character of the creator; intense and frenzied, almost
schizophrenic and yet determined and ambitious. The limited edition first
pressing comes with 4 exclusive orchestral tracks.
Produced with legendary producer Chris Tsangarides (Judas Priest, Thin
Lizzy, Bruce Dickinson), the album showcases all of the trademark components
that earned Biomechanical rave reviews worldwide a stellar vocal attack
incorporating shrill high pitch vocals mixed with guttural growls,
technically flawless playing and incredible guitar solos. The new album
takes things still further, with John K¹s love of soundtrack music even more
evident, giving the tracks a widescreen feel that really help bring to the
album a cinematic edge and depth. At the same time, this is easily the most
aggressive and confrontational album the band has yet delivered, raging from
the speakers in a multi layered scattergun approach. To say the album is
ambitious is hardly doing it justice.

BONDED BY BLOOD - RECORDING 'FEED THE BEAST' B-SIDES IN CALIFORNIA
Though the recording of their full-length EARACHE debut, FEED THE BEAST may be over, the work never stops for BONDED BY BLOOD. After a brief rest, the band went right back into the studio over the weekend to record some extra tracks that had developed over the course of their FEED THE BEAST sessions.
"We made these songs up in the studio while we were over in Sacramento;" recalls BONDED BY BLOOD vocalist, Jose "Aladdin" Barrales. "We'd be sitting around playing video games and all of a sudden, these riffs and licks would come to us."
By the time that the band had grown more comfortable with the surplus of new material they'd quickly created, their time in the studio was already up. However, with persistence, the band got approval to hit the studio a 2nd time just to record the new extra tracks for inclusion elsewhere. "I know that these songs aren't going to be ready for FEED THE BEAST," says Aladdin, "but the important thing is that we recorded 'em while we still had the energy carrying over from the first session."
How are BONDED BY BLOOD's latest creations turning out, you ask? Let Aladdin give you a brief description. "They're coming up really really good so far...definitely more political than most of our other stuff and sounds like a mix between NUCLEAR ASSAULT and TESTAMENT." "It really makes me want to move, too. If the new stuff makes me want to go skate so it's gotta be good."

EVILE have been announced as winners of the Metal Hammer / Rockworld TV GET
IN THE RING competition
Huddersfield Brit-NeoThrashers EVILE have won the Rockworld TV "GET IN THE
RING" TV battle!
Up against Engel, Goat the Head and Viking Skull, Evile ripped through a 25
minute set inside a boxing ring last December as part of the televised
battle of the bands that invited viewers to text in for their favourite band
to win.
Evile won the fans support by text, and also live on the night inciting the
only stage divers of the event.
Ol Drake guitarist of Evile states "We thrashed the shit out of the boxing
ring bringing our iron fist of metal to the TV - now we intend to pummel
Europe's faces with our thrash extravaganza when out on tour with Megadeth!"

Pivotal Rage recently spoke with Død, guitarist of the groove-laden Norwegian death metallers, BLOOD RED THRONE. Among the many topics talked about are recording techniques, touring, "the BLOOD RED THRONE curse," the finer points of tour bus surfing and the various inspirations that contribute to the band's signature sound:
"I've listened to US death metal since 1992 and I still think the old classic bands are the best;" says Død "So, obviously I'm inspired by those bands when I write my death metal. But seriously, I can't recollect ONE US death metal band in 2008 sounding like BRT! Nevertheless, we're not in for the originality. We're in for making good quality death metal, and we don't give a shit if it sounds American or Chinese!"

BONDED BY BLOOD - OWN A PIECE OF THRASH HISTORY
California thrashers, BONDED BY BLOOD recently completed the recording of their debut album, FEED THE BEAST. During their time in the studio, vocalist, Jose "Aladdin" Barrales was given a leather jacket as a gift to commemorate the recording experience. Although Aladdin proudly wore the jacket for some time, he ultimately felt it was too small for him. Not wanting to simply waste a good gift, Aladdin thought about making the jacket available to his fans:
"Our fans have been so good to us that if I couldn't give them the shirt off my back, I should give them my jacket instead;" says energetic frontman, Aladdin.

Recorded in London last week, Dickinson talks to John K and new
Biomechanical guitarist Chris Van Hayden about the new album, flying planes,
recording and drum sound as well as playing tracks from 'Cannibalised'.
Biomechanical mainman John K states:
"I have been a huge fan of Maiden and I never had the chance to meet any of
the members so it was a big deal for me to meet Bruce. He has also been a
huge influence on me so it was just a great experience and a bit surreal
talking about 'Cannibalised' with him.
The show was great fun, I went with guitarist Chris Van Hayden who is also a
fighter pilot. So Bruce and Chris had lots to talk about in the studio
and I was trying to follow the flying discussions with a baffled look on my
face! Cheers to Bruce for having us, it was awesome meeting the main man!"

released 11th Feb 2008. The limited edition first pressing comes with 4
