EARACHE CLOSES CHAPTER ON THE "LOUDNESS WAR" WITH FULL DYNAMIC RANGE VINYL REISSUES
The concept of extreme music isn't the only facet to Earache Records that it has pioneered however... the concept of FDR (Full Dynamic Range) vinyl pressings has revolutionised the way music fans can enjoy their favourite metal albums.
During the heyday of many classic Earache bands' careers, the trend at the time was to make recordings as loud as possible for the fans. Dubbed "The Loudness Wars", this was a concept much of the music industry adhered to in the '90s. Unfortunately, many did not realise that by increasing the loudness of studio recordings, this often had a detrimental effect on the overall sound quality. To achieve super-high volume, the sound waves were compressed against the "audible ceiling", often limiting the difference between the peak and average levels in the music. This meant that the disparity between the loud and quieter elements in the recording (known as the "dynamic range") is significantly reduced.
Earache's idea of "Full Dynamic Range" vinyl reissues is to counteract the "Loudness War" and ensure that fans hear the music as it was intended to sound - pure and organic audio pressed straight to 180-gram vinyl from the original studio analogue or DAT tapes, many of which were stored for 20+ years. This concept is not designed for the casual music fan that might only listen to albums on their phone or iPod, but the real music enthusiasts who like to put a record on a turntable, sit back and absorb the sound waves at the optimal quality, experiencing the warmth and depth to the music as it was originally intended; the instruments leap out of the speakers.
Over recent years, Earache has reissued much of its catalogue on FDR vinyl for the first time. Whether it's the meaty riffs in MORBID ANGEL's 'Altars of Madness' or the all-encompassing stoner sludge of SLEEP's 'Holy Mountain', the difference in quality and depth of these FDR reissues is obvious to even the average music fan. The next titles due for an FDR repress are SLEEP's 'Holy Mountain' (available now), NAPALM DEATH - 'Scum' (March 17th), CARCASS - 'Heartwork' (March 17th) and BOLT THROWER - 'Realm of Chaos' (March 31st). Other titles in the range are now sold out.

BITERS RELEASE FIRST SINGLE, MORE DETAILS FROM NEW ALBUM 'THE FUTURE AIN'T WHAT IT USED TO BE'
Due to be released on May 19th through Earache Records, 'The Future Ain't What It Used to Be' is the follow-up to 2015's critically-acclaimed 'Electric Blood' and is set to land in the wake of a UK/European tour this spring.
Listen to "Stone Cold Love" now at http://youtu.be/SFY2j22YGJQ
BITERS frontman Tuk talks about how "Stone Cold Love" came to be: "I sat down with my buddy Scott (Stevens) to write a tune. We sat for hours trying to come up with something that felt perfect, but were hitting a dead end. We said 'fuck it' and went to his local hang out, ate some cornbread, drank a few beers and talked about music. We spoke about T-Rex, Queen and Slade, shit like that, how cool those big drum grooves were. Right then a light bulb went off and we headed back to the studio with a fresh start and within hours finished writing the song, demoed it and tracked lead vocals! I was so fucking delirious I couldn't tell if it was good or not. A few weeks later, Scott sent me the finished demo while I was on tour in Kansas. I remember cranking it in the van outside of this fake old wild west town and thinking, 'Goddamn, this is so good!'"

DANNY WORSNOP: DEBUT SOLO ALBUM 'THE LONG ROAD HOME' OUT NOW
'The Long Road Home' sees a slight musical departure from Danny's prior work with ASKING ALEXANDRIA and WE ARE HARLOT, forging a deeper and often darker path through the talented young musician's mind and displaying a truly stunning singing voice only hinted at previously.
Long-time fans will see a much more personal and reflective side of Danny's, with brutally honest lyrical themes ranging from loss and heartache to Danny's past (and often public) struggles with drugs and alcohol. Backed by authentic, blues-soaked outlaw country, the album is also interspersed with a few more upbeat tracks, showing that Danny's ability to craft catchy melodies which will have listeners singing along in no time is still very much alive and well.

ROCK 'N' ROLL TRAILBLAZERS BITERS ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM DETAILS AHEAD OF 24 DATE EUROPEAN TOUR
You can pre-order the album from midnight tonight (February 16th, GMT) on iTunes at http://bit.ly/bitersfuture-itunes and signed copies, bundles and vinyl from http://earache.com/biters
BITERS possess a certain energy coursing through their veins... that unmistakable sprinkling of stardust required for a band to go stratospheric. Formed in Atlanta, GA in 2009, frontman Tuk set about his mission to bring back no-nonsense rock 'n' roll to the masses. Their sound is infused with a modern twist on '70s rock; it's loud and fiery, yet unafraid of pop hooks and sweet harmonies. BITERS remind us of times when bands looked liked bands and acted like gangs and are set to destroy any suggestions that rock is dead with their hunger for anarchy and partying hard. They've a cynical social commentary on the state of the world and a knack for a catchy, feel-good chorus.
When it comes to the brand new album, Tuk tells us, "I knew I wanted to do something totally different to 'Electric Blood'. It's very easy to get sidetracked as an artist and especially easy to lose perspective with so many people giving you advice and critique. For this album, I wanted to go back to the reason I started this band back in 2010 - my love for early '70s glam rock, power pop and those big, anthemic sing-alongs are where my heart feels most home. I wanted to take risks and really wear my heart on my sleeve this time around."
For 'The Future Ain't What It Used to Be', BITERS recruited the expertise of multi-platinum songwriter/producer Scott Stevens to help take them to the next level. LA-based Stevens has worked with THE STRUTS, HIGHLY SUSPECT and SHINEDOWN and his input on the lead single "Stone Cold Love" has elevated BITERS' sound to a whole new level.
With regard to having someone else in the studio, Tuk tells us, "The most valuable thing people like Scott and Dan Dixon (producer of 'The Future Ain't What It Used to Be') bring to the table is their willingness to strive for greatness. They don't give up. They'll sit and work 'til they're out-of-their-mind exhausted. To find that same obsessive kinship with other writers and producers gets me so fired up. The experiences I've had in recent years touring, writing and working with other driven, inspiring people have been invaluable. Not all experiences were great by any means, but it was for a greater good. I love being pushed and challenged. It feeds my soul."
The album ignites with the punchy mission statement of "Let It Roll" and the next 33 minutes are pure, unadulterated rock 'n' roll perfection. The stomping T-REX style groove of "Stone Cold Love" will make a home between your ears with its anthemic, stadium-sized chorus. "Callin' You Home" is a reflective and existential stargazer soundtrack, whilst the feel-good bounce of Tuk's personal favourite, "Gypsy Rose" (which was birthed whilst singing to his border collie; "Sometimes you find inspiration in the most unassuming of situations" he informs) and the straight up, no-frills, chunky rock riffs of "Chasin' the Feeling" make 'The Future Ain't What It Used to Be' a record that re-energises the entire genre, making rock 'n' roll relevant once more.
BITERS are blazing a trail across the globe with their electrifying live shows. In March, they undertake a 24-date European tour with label mates BLACKBERRY SMOKE, which will see them playing to over 50,000 music fans, including a date at London's iconic Roundhouse. Dates rack up as follows:
