The wait is finally over! Today, Boomtown Fair and Earache Records have revealed the full lineup for the brand-new-for-2018 venue, "The Earache Factory", and it doesn't disappoint.
New names added to the already mouth-watering bill include EMPLOYED TO SERVE, VENOM PRISON, JAMIE LENMAN, MILK TEETH, HEAVY LUNGS and PENGSHUI, joining the likes of the already-announced bands such as IDLES, DEAD KENNEDYS, SOULFLY, EARTH CRISIS, some "secret special guests" and many more.
Boomtown's Head of Music, Kaptin Barrett comments: "The lineup is so strong, I wish I could spend the whole time there. I will definitely be there for Dead Kennedys, Idles, Hacktivist, Soulfly and Pengshui, but probably more!"
The Earache Factory is a completely new venue at Boomtown and is curated by the legendary independent label Earache Records. Earache has issued over 600 releases since its inception in 1987 and built its reputation on extreme music and a punk attitude. Last summer, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the label, Earache was invited to curate the first ever "heavy" music stage at Glastonbury Festival called 'The Earache Express', which resulted in primetime TV on BBC1 and Ed Miliband impersonating NAPALM DEATH on BBC Radio 4.
Located in the heart of Diss-order Alley, the lineup will feature some of the best in metal, punk, rock, stoner and psych, ranging from world famous artists to the hottest new heavy bands on the scene.
"We are on a mission to bring heavy music to the masses and big credit goes to everyone at Boomtown for welcoming us with open arms. All the band we have booked are heavy in one way or another, but a common theme is that they are all bands with a purpose, bands that mean something and bands that are fighting for positive change. We want to highlight everything that is fucked up in this world and we want to do it through booking defiant and politically engaged bands - and having a lot of fun whilst we do it. Bring your earplugs."
<http://earacherecords.com/myspace/earachefactory_boomtown2018.jpg>
Lak Mitchell, Boomtown founder comments: "We're seriously excited about expanding on the heavy live music side of the festival... The first event I ever put on was a heavy metal gig when I was 16 and have been in various thrash/punk/metal bands ever since, so to represent such an amazing musical culture within the context of Boomtown is insanely exciting and I can't wait to see where this takes us."
Boomtown's multidimensional world not only provides some of the best in underground and global music but incorporates it with some of the most unexpected and immersive theatre. As part of Boomtown's ever-evolving storyline, Diss-order Alley is themed around a military base which has been abandoned and overtaken by an autonomous community of punks. Attendees are encouraged to embrace their inner characters and immerse themselves in the intricately designed venues populated by walkabout performers weaving their way through the city's streets.
Earache Records' Head of Live Music, Tom Hadfield comments: "The sun is out and festival season is upon us! Absolutely buzzing for Boomtown and hope everyone enjoys the lineup that we have pulled together. Even if you aren't into heavy music, you are welcome at the Earache Factory, so come down and be curious... you never know, it could be your new favourite corner of Boomtown."
Boomtown Fair Chapter 10 will take place at Matterley Estate just outside Winchester from August 9th to August 12th, 2018.

British modern hard rock band THOSE DAMN CROWS have released their new single "Blink of an Eye", taken from from their upcoming debut album 'Murder and the Motive', which is due to be released worldwide on October 5th.
"From the early demo stages of 'Blink' we knew this song had the potential to become one of the biggest songs on the record," comments THOSE DAMN CROWS frontman Shane Greenhall. "It seemed to have all the ingredients of a potential hit - a story, a message, a great hook and a HUGE chorus that the crowds at our live shows love to sing back at us."
Speaking about the meaning behind the song, Shane adds: "'Blink' is about a time and place where we grew up as kids, and reflecting on how much has changed since our childhood... pubs, venues, shops, all boarded up; how we once were, how life was and just how precious life and loved ones are. It's only through loss do you truly appreciate life... 'You gotta hit the lows to feel the highs.'"

MASSIVE WAGONS RELEASE OFFICIAL "UNDER NO ILLUSION" MUSIC VIDEO
English anthemic rockers MASSIVE WAGONS have released an official music video for their song "Under No Illusion" ahead of their sold out show with labelmates BLACKBERRY SMOKE at the Holmfirth Picturedrome on Saturday.
The track was the first to be revealed from the band's eagerly-anticipated new album, 'Full Nelson', which releases worldwide on August 10th. The video was filmed with TVPAV.com <http://www.tvpav.com> in and around the band's spiritual home of Lancaster and is available to watch now here <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8IzGWKjGf_k>.
"Under No Illusion is a song which as soon as we'd jammed it together, we kinda knew this was gonna be a single," comments MASSIVE WAGONS frontman Baz Mills. "It had that immediate feel. Some songs take the recording process before they are considered for a single release, but Illusion was instant. It's a song which I suppose from a personal point of view is letting other bands know - bands on the rise - to watch out for the clowns in the industry; selfish people out purely for their own gain. Nothing wrong with furthering yourself at all, just not at the expense of others. We've met loads of 'em, dealt with a few; so hard to spot often till it's too late. A band absolutely needs a trustworthy team around it.
"The song also just says don't be scared to make decisions for the good of yourself and the band. Do your thing. I think when a band are doing what they feel best at - writing songs and performing without being contrived or staged, and just being themselves - it is a much more enjoyable process and it comes across in a much better way. Sometimes easier said than done, I know. There is a message in the song explaining exactly what I think of people praying on bands. I always loved the idea of stuff in song lyrics that is hidden or cryptic - gives it a new angle. I really enjoyed writing this one; thanks everyone for listening to it."
'Full Nelson' features 12 roaring tracks, including a brand new version of "Back to the Stack" - the band's tribute to legendary STATUS QUO rocker Rick Parfitt - as well as the recently-released single "Robot (Trust in Me)" <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u3ZS-VMl-lU>, for which the band worked with famed BLACK SABBATH and JUDAS PRIEST producer/engineer Mike Exeter.
Pre-order 'Full Nelson' now on limited edition signed CD and vinyl here <http://www.earache.com/fullnelson>. The album is also available to pre-order on iTunes, including instant downloads of all four tracks released so far, here <http://bit.ly/fullnelson-itunes>.

MASSIVE WAGONS RELEASE MIKE EXETER-PRODUCED SINGLE "ROBOT (TRUST IN ME)"
English anthemic rockers MASSIVE WAGONS have released a brand new track from their upcoming album 'Full Nelson', which releases on August 10th worldwide.
Following on from a triumphant debut performance at the UK's Download Festival two weeks ago, the band have now returned with another treat for their fans - the grooving, heavy hitter of a track, "Robot (Trust in Me)", for which the band worked with famed BLACK SABBATH and JUDAS PRIEST producer/engineer Mike Exeter.
Listen to "Robot (Trust in Me)" now here <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u3ZS-VMl-lU>.
MASSIVE WAGONS frontman Baz Mills comments: "Robot (Trust in Me) is us having a dig at angry online conspiracy theorists. For me, you can believe what you want - flat earth, dragons, lizard people, whatever; I'm totally cool with that - but I have experienced on numerous occasions the seething inner rage of the online theorist when people simply don't agree or buy into it, which is also very cool with me haha, and it doesn't sit well with said jobless, high-as-a-kite, angry angry man. 'You're all sheep!!! Are you fckin blind?! Can't you see the numbers?!? If you take the number of letters in the numbers six six six and multiply them by how many brain cells I've destroyed constantly smoking super strength weed staring at my computer, then minus Jesus' age, subtract my Jobseeker's Allowance and then divide by 9-11, multiply again by the combined age of Barack Obama's children and mother-in-law, you will come to the exact day and time the world might end!!! CAN'T YOU FCKIN SEE IT YOU SHEEP!!! YOU'RE ALL GONNA DIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEE!!!!!'... Yeah those people. I deleted from Facebook, surprise surprise, a very angry man with some horrible views, which is why I wrote a song about him. The track is not really like anything else on the album, it's got a heavy groove, a little psychedelic perhaps. We really, really like it."
On working with Mike Exeter, Baz adds: "We were immensely privileged to work with Mr. Mike Exeter on this track. He brought his infinite production wisdom to it. If SABBATH, Iommi and Mr. Dio think he's the man, then who are we to disagree? Really cool guy, great to work with and he transformed the track into what you hear. We loved recording it; hope you dig it."
Pre-order the new album 'Full Nelson' now on limited edition signed CD and vinyl here <http://www.earache.com/fullnelson>. The album is also available to pre-order on iTunes, including instant downloads of all four tracks released so far, here <http://bit.ly/fullnelson-itunes>.

MASSIVE WAGONS CONDEMN INTOLERANCE AND RACISM IN NEW TRACK "BILLY BALLOON HEAD"
English anthemic rockers MASSIVE WAGONS have dropped another surprise new track today from their upcoming album 'Full Nelson', once again providing a damning social commentary wrapped in a catchy banger of a tune.
Following on from their previous single "China Plates", which takes a candid look at the rise of social media and people's compulsion to share every aspect of their lives online, the band's new song "Billy Balloon Head" this time takes aim at the growing culture of intolerance, ignorance and racism which is sadly prevalent in modern society.
"I really have no idea if the term 'balloon head' is one used anywhere else in the world but where I'm from," comments frontman Baz Mills. "Maybe it is, I don't know - but if you're a balloon head then as far as I'm concerned you're the sort of person with nothing much in the way of being nice, being tolerant, being open-minded, or having much going on upstairs full stop. The song's a stab at racists, ignorant people - c***s, basically. I can't stand c***s. I've no time for it; be nice or fuck off. That, in a roundabout way, is what Billy Balloon Head is all about. If you're gonna be a twat, fuck off and be a twat somewhere else, on your own. Bottom of the sea preferably."
