Pomona, CA thrashers, BONDED BY BLOOD recently began recording the long-awaited follow-up to their 2008 debut, FEED THE BEAST. The band has set up camp in Phoenix, AZ to record their new album at Highland Recorders with producer, Ralph Patlan (WHITE WIZZARD, MEGADETH, UFO).
The band has been keeping a regular studio blog on their MySpace page and posted a update on the 9th about what they've been recording:
"Today is day 4 and have a day off today after couple days of hard work. Began tracking rhythm tracks last night and will go back into the studio tomorrow morning to finish them up. Everything seems to be coming out really well. Look out for more updates on the album, more pictures and footage coming soon."

MUNICIPAL WASTE GETTING READY FOR SOUTH AMERICAN TOUR
Having just completed a highly successful run in the UK/Europe, Richmond, VA crossover leaders, MUNICIPAL WASTE are headed straight back onto the road this March for a number of dates in South America. "South America has always been on our list of places to spread the Waste;" says guitarist, Ryan Waste. "I know how passionate the crowds are about heavy music down there and we're going to deliver. I'm prepared for some wild shows to ensue."
This being their first major tour of the continent, MUNICIPAL WASTE cannot wait to go and meet some of the wild fans who have waited a long time to see them. Their South American fans have stirred up such a frenzy that some venue changes had to be made to accommodate how intense these shows are expected to become. ORDER OF ENNEAD TO FILM MUSIC VIDEO FOR "THE CONCEPT OF OUR EXTINCTION"
Floridian extreme metallers, ORDER OF ENNEAD will film a new music video during the middle of this month for "The Concept of Our Existence," the ripping opening track off of their upcoming sophomore release, AN EXAMINATION OF BEING. The video plans to match the great intensity and large complexities of the song. Considering that ORDER OF ENNEAD is one of the deepest and most thoughtful metal acts around, that is no easy task. Perhaps that is why vocalist/guitarist, Kevin Quirion and his Largo, FL-based company, Advanced Media will handle all directorial and production duties for the shoot. Knowing the great care that Quirion takes with his work, the video will undoubtedly let the viewer experience the song on a much heightened level - the way it was meant to be experienced.

around Europe on a headlining tour in support of their new album, MASSIVE

with pizza base (can be any shape as long as it can fit in a pizza oven),

The design must represent a pizza with real, edible ingredients and entrants
must explain why they have chosen those specific ingredients and toppings in
relation to MUNICIPAL WASTE.
The top five recipes will be chosen by the band and made at Pizzeria
Pappagone. The band will then judge the pizzas based on taste, excitement
and overall impression. The designer of the winning pizza will then get to
hang out with the members of MUNICIPAL WASTE at the band's show at the Scala
in London, UK on February 4th and will also receive a goody bag full of

BONDED BY BLOOD TO RECORD NEW ALBUM
Pomona, CA thrashers, BONDED BY BLOOD will be heading into the studio next week to record the long-awaited follow-up to their 2008 debut, FEED THE BEAST. On February 1st, the young thrash disciples will begin their sessions in Phoenix, AZ to record their new album at Highland Recorders. They will later migrate to nearby Stealth Sound for additional work. Producing the record will be Ralph Patlan (WHITE WIZZARD, MEGADETH, UFO).
The members of BONDED BY BLOOD cannot wait to show the world how much of a step forward they've made with their new material. According to frontman, Jose "Aladdin" Barrales, "the album is a bit more thought out than our prior attempt." Guitarist, Alex Lee adds, "this album is a lot more technical and heavier than our previous."
The new album will mark the recording debut of new bassist, Jerry Garcia. "I'm really excited to record my debut album with BONDED BY BLOOD;" says the band's newest member. "With Ralph on our side, the outcome will be a heavy, technical speed metal explosion in your ears."
That explosion is exactly what Ralph Patlan is setting out to accomplish in producing the album. No stranger to taking artists to the limits of their potential, he is thrilled to start working with BONDED BY BLOOD. "I've heard the album demos and I'm very excited to start working with them. These guys are on point and these songs will have major balls to them."
BONDED BY BLOOD's new album is tentatively scheduled for release in Spring 2010.

CAULDRON ANNOUNCES 'CHAINED TO THE ROAD' CANADIAN TOUR
Canadian heavy metal heroes CAULDRON have announced a headlining tour of
Canada in March.

CAULDRON recently toured the UK with Swedish legends WOLF before joining
MUNICIPAL WASTE on the North American leg of their Waste the World tour.
Now, the Toronto metallers are bringing traditional heavy metal back to
their homeland.
CAULDRON frontman/bassist JASON DECAY comments:
"We can't wait to get back out to the eastern part of Canada and pound some
metal with the 'true' French and maritime bangers. Canada has always been
really good for us, especially out east and the far west, so we're really

If, like Virginian crossover leaders MUNICIPAL WASTE, you have a secret
passion for pizza, you could be in with the chance of meeting the band in

The band wants you to design a MUNICIPAL WASTE-themed pizza, complete with
pizza base (can be any shape as long as it can fit in a pizza oven) along
with a range of toppings of your choice.
The design must represent a pizza with real, edible ingredients, and
entrants must explain why they have chosen those specific ingredients and
toppings in relation to MUNICIPAL WASTE.
The top five recipes will be chosen by the band and made at Pizzeria
Pappagone. The band will then judge the pizzas based on taste, excitement
and overall impression. The designer of the winning pizza will then get to
hang out with the members of MUNICIPAL WASTE at the band's show at the Scala
in London, UK on February 4th and will also receive a goody bag full of
merch. The designers of the other four chosen recipes will receive a goody
bag full of MUNICIPAL WASTE merch.

British death metallers IGNOMINIOUS INCARCERATION are set to perform a

OCEANO TO BEGIN RECORDING NEW ALBUM, TAPS ZEUESS AS PRODUCER
A year after completing the recording of their hugely successful 2009 debut, DEPTHS, Chicago's deathcore heavyweights, OCEANO are heading back into the studio to record their follow-up. Set for release later this year, the new album will tell a story that promises to open eyes and deliver a more mature experience than many might normally expect. "Expect us to go DEEPER than DEPTHS this time around, and NOT just meaning heavier;" says vocalist, Adam Warren. "This is more than just our sophomore album. It is a great vision to be accomplished when all of the pieces we've worked so hard to create - art, music, lyrics and overall atmosphere - come together."

WHITE WIZZARD BASSIST EXPLAINS HOW METALLICA AND QUEENSRYCHE HELPED KILL METAL IN THE 90'S
In a controversial blog post, exclusively on HardTimes.ca, WHITE WIZZARD bassist, Jon Leon goes into great detail on why he believes that the legendary acts, METALLICA and QUEENSRYCHE were instrumental in the decline of heavy metal in the early 1990's. Jon puts the era into context and elaborates on why both bands, once symbols for the anti-establishment fell prey to the powers that be and ultimately, along with the help of other contributing factors would help bring the downfall of heavy metal music at that time:
"Metallica's track 6..."Don't tread on me" was a track lyrically that actually called upon peoples patriotism and glorified support of the US government and the blind devotion of patriotism without questioning.... It was an odd 180 to say the least.....lines like "Love it or Leave it" were a sharp contrast to the lines on Justice...so much it was hard to believe more did not see it....To have such a strong lyrical stance on the justice album that was so anti system and exposing the lies and inspiring heavily to question it......it seemed odd that this album would be silent in this regard and then on top of it there was this patriotic song that encouraged a blind devotion to country......
Queensryche's track 6, "Empire" was equally head scratching from a band that had released the most lyrically sharp attack on the government and system in music history...this song seems to paint a PG rated picture of a call to have more cops on the street to avoid the kind of uprising the previous album had almost seemed to push for. There is a narration in the middle explaining that we do not pay enough for law enforcement....What a huge almost hypocritical contrast to put out an album and statement at the level of mindcrime, and then to basically say in this one song that we need more cops on the street and kind of a "hey, yeah we fucked up and we should not have wrote about a revolution or exposed all these truths....conform to the system-we are going to now and make alot of money".....I guess you could argue they got wise and cashed in...but it is just really interesting to me-always has been, so that is why I decided to write this....Now they are warning us that conforming and not rebelling and getting more cops on the street will save us from "Empire" ....thanks guys.."

Queensryche's track 6, "Empire" was equally head scratching from a band that had released the most lyrically sharp attack on the government and system in music history...this song seems to paint a PG rated picture of a call to have more cops on the street to avoid the kind of uprising the previous album had almost seemed to push for. There is a narration in the middle explaining that we do not pay enough for law enforcement....What a huge almost hypocritical contrast to put out an album and statement at the level of mindcrime, and then to basically say in this one song that we need more cops on the street and kind of a "hey, yeah we fucked up and we should not have wrote about a revolution or exposed all these truths....conform to the system-we are going to now and make alot of money".....I guess you could argue they got wise and cashed in...but it is just really interesting to me-always has been, so that is why I decided to write this....Now they are warning us that conforming and not rebelling and getting more cops on the street will save us from "Empire" ....thanks guys.."

Irish thrashers GAMA BOMB decided to break the mold in 2009 when they
released their brand new album, TALES FROM THE GRAVE IN SPACE, online as a

black (only 700 made) and ultra-limited edition green (only 300 made), as
well as on CD. The limited edition CD version of the album also comes with
an exclusive bonus EP, titled HALF CUT, which includes 5 brand new, extra
tracks.

"When we released Tales from the Grave in Space as a free download last
year, one of the most common responses from our fans was 'When can I get
this album on CD?' Which was both surprising and reassuring.
"We're giving our fans what we'd ideally like from a band we love; banging
thrash you can either listen to for free or own as a high-quality physical
package if you prefer something for your shelf.
"We worked hard, very hard, on the tracks which make up Half Cut. When we
spent days recording Tales... in the studio, we were working on Half Cut in
the kitchen of our cottage at night. We recorded on weekends and at home
long after recording had finished. These are the freshest songs we've
written, but they're quite different from the songs on Tales... they're a
bit meaner, a bit more evil.
