GAMA BOMB COMMENT ON RECENT GIG WITH MACHINE HEAD

GAMA BOMB COMMENT ON RECENT GIG WITH MACHINE HEAD

Irish thrashers Gama Bomb played the biggest gig of their career last weekend as they supported metal heavyweights Machine Head on their home soil. Gama Bomb guitarist and vocalist Phil Byrne has spoken out about playing the sell-out gig at Dublin's Ambassador Theatre:

"The experience of playing with Machine Head is going to be pretty hard to beat. Since it was a sold out show in one of our personal favourite venues and on our own home turf, it was a really exciting night. The gig was a real taste of what it?s like to totally storm in a high-end venue and we can't wait to do it again!"

He has also revealed how Rob Flynn made a special effort to meet up with them backstage:

"Rob Flynn actually came knocking on our dressing room door and we were all shocked by how genuine and friendly he was. He hung out for a bit and talked shite with us and had a laugh; he's a cool dude".

After signing to Earache Records a few months ago, and with plans for a 2008 album entitled 'Citizen Brain' in the pipeline, Phil has commented upon the positive reaction from the crowd to their own brand of Irish thrash:

"The crowd were so supportive and energetic, and even the hardcore MH fans didn't get impatient with us and cheered, which was cool. There were also some pretty storming circle-pits going and a lot of young thrashers up front raging...it was worth all the work just to see those kids going apeshit and having a blast. One of the best gigs we've ever done and one of the best experiences we've had as a band - roll on more gigs!"
