Have you ever heard a riff and thought, "I wonder what that would sound like if it were slower and heavier?" Well, GREEN DRUID has.
Since the dawn of metal, those with a taste for the heavier side of music have often mused over what popular songs would sound like if they were more distorted, more crushing, more... DOOMY. So in June 2018, psychedelic stoner doom collective GREEN DRUID went into Module Overload Studios in Denver, Colorado to answer the age-old question once and for all - Will It Doom?
Episode 2 sees the band putting another '70s classic to the test, this time with THE KNACK's No. 1 hit "My Sharona". Watch the video now here <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CDmwrO8VDpc>.
"We chose to give 'My Sharona' the doom treatment simply because of how ridiculous it sounded," comments GREEN DRUID guitarist Graham Zander. "It's such an upbeat, fun song in its original form. We found the doomed version hilarious."
The first episode of 'Will It Doom?' saw GREEN DRUID kick off the series with a sublime rendition of the LED ZEPPELIN classic "Immigrant Song". Catch up on the episode here <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bHLyRKODPNo>.
Back in March, GREEN DRUID unleashed their monolithic debut album 'Ashen Blood', which Metal Injection called "The perfect jam for any fan of psychedelic doom", and Heavy Blog Is Heavy described as "chock-full of dense tones, crashing riffs, and a stoner haze so thick the album should come with eyedrops". The album also led to GREEN DRUID winning the Best Metal Band award in Colorado's lifestyle, fashion, culture and entertainment publication 303 Magazine.

GREEN DRUID ANSWER AGE-OLD QUESTION "WILL IT DOOM?" WITH CRUSHING LED ZEPPELIN COVER
In the first episode in the series, the band put LED ZEPPELIN to the test, with their 1970 classic track "Immigrant Song". Watch the video now to find out if it will doom here <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bHLyRKODPNo>.
GREEN DRUID guitarist Graham Zander comments:
"The idea for Will It Doom - especially with the first episode - came from taking old records and playing them at slower speed. Once we heard what 'Immigrant Song' sounded like at that tempo we started trying it with other riffs to see which ones translated the best. Sometimes the results were pretty unexpected."
MASSIVE WAGONS: NEW ALBUM 'FULL NELSON' OUT NOW WORLDWIDE
English anthemic rockers MASSIVE WAGONS have today released their highly-anticipated new album 'Full Nelson' worldwide via Earache Records.
After nine years of scintillating live shows and three acclaimed studio albums, MASSIVE WAGONS are back with their Earache debut, featuring 12 tracks of quintessentially British hard rock 'n' roll and a live energy that is impossible not to get swept up in.
Pick up 'Full Nelson' now on limited edition signed CD and vinyl, along with a range of great merch bundles here <http://www.earache.com/fullnelson>. The album is also available now on iTunes for the special price of just £4.99 for this week only here <http://bit.ly/fullnelson-itunes>.
MASSIVE WAGONS frontman Baz Mills comments:
"Album number 4 - it doesn't seem that long ago that myself and Adam were talking about maybe, perhaps, if you're up for it, having a go at writing a song, just for a laugh of course, can't harm can it, see what happens... 9 years in, an EP, 4 studio albums, a live album, and various other recorded odds 'n' sods and here we are, releasing the fourth of those studio albums, 'Full Nelson'.
"Signing with Earache was the absolute making of this album. After 'Welcome to the World' we were kinda homeless really. We had started writing again but had no real plan for a release; self-release maybe, talk to another label? But just at the exact right moment Earache made contact and here we are, overflowing with confidence and pride for 'Full Nelson', and still amazed we've managed to write an album of tunes, let alone 4!
"This album we feel is the Wagons fully in their stride, both musically and lyrically. It's big, bold and memorable we think, but to be honest that's not really for us to decide haha. We've definitely poured more time and hard work into this album than any before, from the artwork, the songwriting and recording, to merch and PR, this is definitely our biggest effort yet, and the one we are most pleased with.
"We'd like to thank our wonderful team at Earache Records; they have worked tirelessly on our behalf to build this album up to be as big as it can be. That can also be said of Terri at RPM. Terri and Heidi represent this band from the heart. We would not be doing this without them at all. And thanks to all the rockers and rollers across the galaxy who have already ordered the album, and those set to buy it. We ultimately do this for your entertainment. We love to entertain, to give people a chance to let go and enjoy music, and we are truly honoured and humbled that you listen. We hope you enjoy our songs and thank you for your continued support. Rock on!"

In a worldwide exclusive, the band are joining forces with Primordial Radio a full 2 days earlier for an exclusive airing of the new album, in full, hosted by the boys from MASSIVE WAGONS as they tell the tales behind the album and the inspiration for the tracks, one by one.
MASSIVE WAGONS and Primordial Radio go way back, with an acoustic set at the Virtual Pub Quiz and the band being invited to perform at the station's AGM earlier in 2018. This new partnership gives MASSIVE WAGONS fans and the Primordial community the chance to access the new album 2 days early by signing up to Primordial Radio's FREE trial.
MASSIVE WAGONS frontman Baz Mills comments:
"The release of Full Nelson has been coming down the track full speed at us for what seems like ages now. It's finally approaching. We've never put so much into a release before; proper management and a fantastic label have enabled us to really do it right this time, and we are seriously beyond honoured to be able to share it with the Primordial massive in this manner.
"Playing the AGM was a proper turning point for the band; the support we received from the station and all the listeners was just unreal. We've now a regular sea of electric blue at our gigs and it's fantastic to see. Thank you. Thank you to everyone who's pre-ordered Full Nelson. We really hope you enjoy what you hear. Much love."
Pete Bailey, Primordial Radio's Music Director adds:
"Our community has a deep admiration for Massive Wagons and we're delighted to present this opportunity. It'll be pretty cool as Wagons fans around the world get together and share the experience."
The exclusive 'Full Nelson' album show will be aired at 6pm BST today - Wednesday, 8th August. New members can sign up using the code PR_WagonsFN or use the direct link here <https://primordialradio.com/eg1-sub?eg1=PR_WagonsFN>.

SHIKARI SOUND SYSTEM REVEALED AS SECRET GUESTS FOR THE EARACHE FACTORY AT BOOMTOWN FAIR
Earache Records is pleased to reveal the previously mentioned secret guests for The Earache Factory stage at this year's Boomtown Fair as none other than SHIKARI SOUND SYSTEM.
The electronic alter-ego of British alternative giants ENTER SHIKARI (who will themselves be playing the Town Centre stage at Boomtown), SHIKARI SOUND SYTEM join The Earache Factory as part of a lineup which features some of the best in metal, punk, rock, stoner and psych, ranging from world-famous artists to the hottest new heavy bands on the scene.
ENTER SHIKARI/SHIKARI SOUND SYSTEM frontman Rou Reynolds comments:
"I was already looking forward to this weekend and our first Boomtown experience, but knowing we've got some Shikari Sound System late-night revelry on the cards too has just cranked it up a notch. The Earache guys have put together a bill on their stage that runs the gamut of heavy music excellence, so we're psyched to be following them with some glittery disco anthems to really show the metal kids what's up! But, seriously, we look forward to heading over after our full-band set and be busting out the best in drum & bass and some unreleased Shikari remixes that we're holding especially for the night."
The Earache Factory is a completely new venue at Boomtown, curated by the legendary independent label Earache Records and located in the heart of Diss-order Alley. Earache has issued over 600 releases since its inception in 1987 and built its reputation on extreme music and a punk attitude. Last summer, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the label, Earache was invited to curate the first ever "heavy" music stage at Glastonbury Festival called "The Earache Express", which resulted in primetime TV on BBC1 and Ed Miliband impersonating NAPALM DEATH on BBC Radio 4.
The full stage times for Thursday, 9th August at The Earache Factory have been revealed as follows:
14:30 - 15:00 VODUN
15:30 - 16:00 PENGSHUI
16:30 - 17:15 HEAVY LUNGS
18:00 - 18:45 CHURCH OF THE COSMIC SKULL
19:30 - 20:15 FEED THE RHINO
21:00 - 22:00 IDLES
Boomtown's multidimensional world not only provides some of the best in underground and global music but incorporates it with some of the most unexpected and immersive theatre. As part of Boomtown's ever-evolving storyline, Diss-order Alley is themed around a military base which has been abandoned and overtaken by an autonomous community of punks. Attendees are encouraged to embrace their inner characters and immerse themselves in the intricately designed venues populated by walkabout performers weaving their way through the city's streets.
Boomtown Fair Chapter 10 takes place at Matterley Estate just outside Winchester from August 9th to August 12th. Get tickets to the festival here <http://www.boomtownfair.co.uk>.

MASSIVE WAGONS RELEASE NEW SONG "HATE ME" AHEAD OF 'FULL NELSON' LAUNCH NEXT WEEK
English anthemic rockers MASSIVE WAGONS are treating fans to one more taste of new music before the release of their eagerly anticipated new album 'Full Nelson' next week, with the release of the brand new song "Hate Me".
Depicted as a sort of "love song turned on its head", the track continues MASSIVE WAGONS' trend of writing huge-sounding hits with big hooks and catchy, singalong choruses, like fan favourites "Ratio" and "Tokyo", along with 'Full Nelson' album opener "Under No Illusion".
Listen to "Hate Me" now here <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hfdtLFtSN9Y>.
MASSIVE WAGONS frontman Baz Mills discusses the moment the band knew they'd struck gold:
"When you're constantly writing songs, constantly throwing ideas and arrangements around, reworking lyrics, umm-ing and ahh-ing about a song, is it right, will the finished product be worth the effort put into a song... When you take a new song to a practice for the first ever time for myself and Adam to play the lads - at this stage Adam's never heard the words and the lads have never heard the lyrics or music - and the room immediately lights up and Alex just busts into the jam with us because he can't contain it, and by the end everyone's playing and big smiles all round, you know you've hit gold. That's honestly only ever happened twice: 'Ratio' and 'Hate Me'. Immediately it's all anyone wants to work on, that track; it invigorates writing and puts you on a high again. We feel it's got such a great radio vibe about it, we'd love to see it do well."
Regarding the meaning behind the lyrics, Baz comments:
"The song itself is essentially a take on a love song, from the viewpoint of the person doing the dumping. I've always loved Alice Cooper's take on song themes. He can take a typical rock 'n' roll-esque track and his lyrics take you to the darkest places sometimes without realising. I really dig that ability. I think 'Hate Me' has an Alice vibe maybe; that '50s style drum beat booming away, the dark lyrics... Yeah, I do love a great lyricist and he's a master. 'Hate Me' is a big fave of ours and has now become a staple part of the live show."
'Full Nelson' is due to be released next Friday, 10th August, and is available to pre-order on limited edition signed CD and vinyl here <http://www.earache.com/fullnelson>. The album is also available to pre-order on iTunes for the special price of just £4.99, including instant downloads of five tracks, here <http://bit.ly/fullnelson-itunes>.
